First home game of the season saw hayes claim a well earned 4 / 1 Victory over sporting Khalsa.
The first 20 minutes was a tight battling game with Sporting Khalsa having the majority ofthe territorial advantage without any clear-cut chances .
As Hayes started to get on top Ben Squire was put through on the edge of the box and
ran on to volly the ball past keeper. A few minutes later stand in goal keeper Dan Mcgrady , played a quality ball out to winger Alex Porter who then played the ball through to Ben Squire who looked up and played a defence splitting ball through to Toby Williams who then struck a 25 yard screamer making it 2 / 0 ( move of the game ) . Heath Hayes continued to take the game to Khelsa and the pressure paid off with a penetrating cross from Luke White which saw Cam D'aguilar finish it of making it 3 / 0 to Hayes at half time.
The second half started as the first finished with Heath Hayes putting Khalsa under pressure with Toby Williams twice and Dan Haldron both coming close to scoring in the first 5 minutes.
Midway through the second half , Hayes took their foot of the gas and were punished with a firmly struck shot from the edge of the box making it 3 / 1.
This woke Hayes up and forward pressure resumed for which they were rewarded with a penalty which was took by Toby Williams but saved by Khalsa's keeper.Minutes later a free kick from Luke White saw Alex Porter's shot cleared off the line for a corner Hayes then capitalised from the corner with a superb header from Toby Williams making it his second and bringing Hayes score to 4 / 1 Heath Hayes continued to make chances but the final score remained 4 / 1.
A good all round team performance with a special mention for Tyrone Stewart and Ben Squire who epitomised the spirit within the team .
