Half way through the season and Hayes play host to Silverdale Warriors . This fixture was in doubt due to heavy overnight rain, but Manager Simon Porter was eager to play and after an early pitch inspection gave the green light .
The match got under way and once again the rain came down with avengence making it an even game for both sides after 10 mins Heath Hayes began to assert a little pressure and a superb pass played across field to Danny Mac who then shot a looping ball over the top only to be denied by the bar (nice tights by the way Dan ) .
Moments later Ben Squire picked up a loose ball once again on the edge of the 18 yrd box to place a cracking left foot shot in back of the net to open the scoring 1/ 0 to Hayes , Hayes continued to pile on the pressure with Ben Squire and Luke White combining once again to set up Danny Mac this time he would not be denied and with a cracking shot made it 2 / 0 to Hayes ( well done Dan ) , Ben and Dan once again linked up for Dan to shoot on goal only to denied this time by the keeper who pushed the ball wide for a corner .
Silverdale did have a couple of chances with a through ball being missed by Rowie who did an air shot to be proud off ( even Ferdinand gets it wrong Alex keep smiling ) however Alex's blushes were saved by fellow defenders Ellis Leason and Dan Hassel who between them cleared the ball , Silverdale had one more push just before half time but Hayes keeper Harry Greenshill made an excellent save half time score 2 / 0 to Hayes .
The second half got under way with Hayes continuing to push Silverdale with Ben Squire having a shot cleared of the line, Hayes finally broke through with Luke,Ben and Cam setting up Toby Williams who dually obliged by slotting the ball in the top corner 3 / 0 to Hayes .
Moments later Silverdale broke down the right passed the Hayes defence only to be denied once again by Harry however Harry was beaten by the rebound making it 3 / 1, Silverdale lifted by their goal came again forcing a corner this time it was keeper Harry Greenshill turn to blush as he came out to catch the ball and and only managed to catch fresh air ( that's Harry and Alex it must be catching boys think we need to separate you boy's ha ha ha ) .
Hayes did however finish the game on a high with several chances from Ben Squire, Alex Porter and Toby Williams all of which were denied by Silverdale's keeper who had a good second half .
Final Score 3 / 1 well done lads .
