From the start it was clear that Woodbourne had not come to Heath Hayes to be turned over again and played from start to end in a determined fashion. Heath Hayes started well with two quick goals in the first half and appeared to be taking control of the game. Woodbourne always looked a threat on the break and when a through ball was played to Ryan Shemwell he obliged attacking the Hayes goal and finishing well. Shemwell followed up with a second goal to tie the score at half time. The second half proved equally entertaining with chances at both ends for each team. Hayes stand in keeper, Hayden Nash, undoubtedly kept them in the game at a cricial point with a fantastic save. The game was decided by a penalty awarded to Hayes midway through the second half. Woodbourne deserved a draw for their efforts although Hayes ran out winners 3 - 2. Well done to all lads from both teams good entertainment in quite bleak conditions at times.
