Woodbourne FC 3
Heath Hayes Youth Team 8

Brad Woolridge (1)
David Leese (1)

Jon Austin (3)

Striken with illness holidays and injury Hayes again fielded the bare 11 player for the first cup encounter of this season. Although the team was depleted the moral was the one of the highest it had been with a great team spirit. Hayes played some excellent football in the first half and began to dominate although Woodbourne errors gave Heath Hayes their 2 goal lead at half time. Heath Hayes came out in the second half and increased their total to 4 before Woodbourne had woken up. Woodbourne came back with 2 quick goals from Toby Bowett only to slip back again and allow Heath Hayes to score their 5th. Heath Hayes were strong and commanding in their efforts and took their tally to 8 with 1 more in reply from Woodbourne to take the full time score to Woodbourne 3, Heath Hayes 8. A great team performance from all the lads and one to be proud of. Particular mentions should go to Spook and Ryan with great communication and positive comments in the first half - JT for stepping back up to the mark, Chad - an inspirational goal. Nice hat trick Jonno and some great play from Dave Leese. Okay Brad we'll give you that goal (it glanced a hair on your fringe!) and of course our midfield goal keeper Nasher well done mate.
